A surreal fantasy about a young woman named Brynn, who impulsively takes her boyfriend Laika on a trip to escape their dead-end lives in Chicago. They drive to a house in the mountains that Brynn's uncle owns, where she spent time as a child. While exploring the grounds they quickly become aware they are not alone, and this is confirmed by a strange masked person showing up in the house named Rue. Over the course of the week, Brynn feels a strange pull toward Rue - causing tension in her relationship with Laika. Their relationship is tested even further as Brynn follows Rue into another world, deep in the woods, where she can create anything she wishes from thin air. Eventually she is forced to make a decision: keep trying to make life work, or retreat entirely into the dark.
